Remote control for drones and robots

Year
2021 to 2023
I built a platform for remote operation of drones and robots. Low latency backend, operator web UI, telemetry, device control, and APIs.
WebRTC handled FPV video and audio at about 150 to 190 ms end to end on 720p at 30 fps, with average bitrate around 1.8 to 3 Mbps. Unstable networks got adaptive bitrate, packet loss handling, reconnect, and fallback paths so control still worked when video dropped.
I tracked P95 latency, jitter, packet loss, FPS, bitrate, reconnect rate, API latency, and availability, with alerts and post mortems after live events.
Scope of Work

How cases are written
Problem, process, result. Short enough to scan, detailed enough to check.

Process and interface
Flows and screens that match how the system actually runs.

Notes under the work
Why we chose a metric, what shipped, what we would change next.

Different frame sizes
Dashboards, product UI, or site layout — use the ratio that fits.

Wide frames
Good for product surfaces and analytics views.

Standard frames
Useful for detail shots and single UI moments.

Two images
Before/after or two states side by side.
